You are giving someone the keys to your home and, probably, some authority to act for you when you are not around. It is reasonable to ask direct questions first, of anyone. A good answer to these is usually clear, specific and put in writing.
About the service
- Who will actually visit my home? And who do I call if I have a question?
- What exactly is checked on a visit, and what is not?
- How will you tell me what you find? Agree how often and in what form.
- Which services are included, and which are extra?
About money and authority
- How are your fees structured? Ask to see them in writing, along with what they cover.
- How are supplier costs handled? Are they passed on as invoiced? Is there anything added?
- What can you spend or authorise without asking me? A clear limit protects both of you.
- Will I see quotations and invoices?
About access and the unexpected
- How are my keys stored, and who has access to them?
- What happens in an emergency? Ask what cover is actually provided, rather than assuming.
Things worth checking for yourself
Depending on what you are asking someone to do, it may be sensible to ask about their business registration and insurance, and, for holiday lets, how they fit with your Alojamento Local obligations. A lawyer or accountant can help you with the legal side.
We would welcome these questions ourselves. You can ask them in a first conversation with Viktoriia, or read about how we work.
